Ed if you can spare some time, would like to know what barcelonas plans are for

Dembele - seen links to man utd and liverpool

Will they be in for a new RB?

Is memphis depay still a target?

Thank you for your time, no worries if you can't respond.

Cheers.

Lakerville

{Ed002's Note -
(1) Ousmane Dembele (LW/RW/F) Barcelona could be stuck with the player as it is unlikely other clubs will match their valuation - unless he can be used as part of another transfer, loaned or the price drops considerably. Liverpool had enquired after his price earlier in the year but likely only want a loan with an option to buy - if that were to become an obligation to buy then it could be possible if Mane or Salah were to leave. PSG would resist his involvement as part of a deal for Neymar and Barcelona have moved on from Neymar in any case. Juventus could be open to a loan but will not want to buy the player. This could be very disruptive to other transfer plans. I am not aware of any approach by Manchester United. The player is not keen on leaving Barcelona and has been working hard to prove himself to the new coach.
(2) A new RB is under discussion.
(3) MD remains an option to replace Suarez but there are others on the list as well, and other clubs talking to Lyon about Depay.}

Lots of chat about dembele to man utd in the last day or so, have you heard anything new?

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained on the Manchester United page he is one of several options to their first choice.}

I did read that ed just so much going on you never know if it's real or papers just bringing back old stories.

Really like the player if he can stay fit I'd love to see him at United.

Ed it was said that koeman decided to join barcelona if he could get one player with hik qnd that player was van de beek?

So now with VDB going to man utd will koeman likely leave? It seems barcelona have been unable to stick to their promise with the new coach?

Lakerville

{Ed002's Note - No, he did not join on that basis. As part of the process he asked for DvdB. It would not have been a promise.}

Hey Ed's any truth of interest in suarez to juventus?

Thanks for all the info this summer.

Lakerville

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona has a number of players available and have directly offered Suarez to three sides I am aware of - including Juventus.}

Thank you for your response. hope it ain't too crazy whichever part of the world you at.

{Ed002's Note - Not too bad.}

can any of the eds with info shed some light into the messi contract situation?

nothing from the player but the president of the club has said he's signed it and Javier tebas has said the same unless he's been lied to, and xavi spoke about it recently. just wondering what is the truth if anyone knows

Lakerville

{Ed002's Note - I think someone has been teasing you about Josep Maria Bartomeu saying that Messi has signed a new contract. I am certainly not aware of him making any such statement.}

Eds are Barcelona interested in any RB's? or are they planning on using sergi roberto in that role as the media suggests.

Lakerville

{Ed001's Note - yes they are looking to sign a right back.}

How the mighty have fallen, mighty low.

I have no idea why messi is walking around like he's on the beach but he has to take the blame for a no show again.

Xavi, iniesta, cesc, = pass pass pass

mascherano, alves, adriano=conceed.

brillaint combo they have right there.

Neymar is probably the most expensive flop in history, I really don't see how he can offer them anything different to the diving classes.

Busquets was slow. think mertesacker as CDM and why oh why sanchez came on with 5 mins to go is beyond me.

Is he great at managing big egos ed? Seems to be some sort of power play going on there? guess you will be in a more informed position to make that statement.

Lakerville

{Ed002's Note - Koeman is a strong charachter which is what Barcelona need now. They must rebuild and they must get some youngsters through to the first team squad and he is idea for both things - although Ed001 is far from convinced. Many of the "big egos" will be gone over the next 12 months. However the elections could cut it short very easily.}

Hey ed, have the target for Barcelona changed?

and has there been any recent interest in coutinho? they seem to play him as if they auditioning to sell him, he just does not fit their team.

any response is appreciated.

thanks

Lakerville

{Ed002's Note - Yes, I would strike Nicolo Zaniolo from the list. There have been no offers for Coutinho.}

From what I hear its because he told messi if he does not stop being a diva he will get john terry to have a look at his mrs.

Thats true, he never gets tested as they have possesion way too much, but its not likely to change unless they decide to change their ways, and they don't do anything which is unbarcelona like, unless its done under the desk with bundles of cash.

even thou, busquets as a CDM is not all that bad, they already have 3-5 world class players and adding some really good players just means he will continue playing and go unnoticed, perhaps they appreciate his time wasting and diving skills, not seen a lot fo players who can do that. him and pepe right now are the messi and ronaldo in that category. {Ed001's Note - I would have to agree, Busquets is certainly one of the best playacters in the world. It is amazing how many times he turns over possession only to regain it through a blatant and pathetic swan dive.}

Ed, I don't think barcelona are too far off, if they stop buying forwards and buy CB's and a CDM they should be fine.

I think selling neymar and alexis should be their priority.

bringing in Aguero should be their priority.

I think playing two up front should be the way they should approach going forward.

Xavi does not add much besides passing, and passing for the sake of it is pointless.

if they want to go 3 upfront the ideal players are Reus, Messi and Aguero, players who will run, create and defend.

iniesta or cesc should replace xavi, I don't see him having any impact.

Busquets thrives as the holding midfielder, but not when their defense is suspect. a somewhat pacey CB with positional awareness is a must, Hummels perhaps, and selling Dani Alves would go along way.

They need a RB who does more than spend 70% of his time as a winger making the other winger play more central and having too many players in the middle with no one to cross to as they are all midgets.

Since they won't be selling neymar, adding reus or aguero should be their target, selling of Alves and Sanchez. and getting a CB.

they are not going to get a CDM to replace busquets and to be fair besides his play acting, he is one of the best at his position in the game, only Vidal.

Yaya toure and alonso are on the wrong side of 30 and they can't get any better so long term he would be the best bet. {Ed001's Note - I am sorry but Busquets is simply not one of the best or even close to it. He is average. He has no positional sense, his passing is ok, but his vision is lacking, he has no pace, can't tackle, can't shoot, is tall but not particularly strong in the air. He is lucky he is friendly with Messi and is at a club where the style of play doesn't expose his weaknesses. After all, they keep the ball so much you never really get to see how poor he is defensively that much.}
